Introduction to Lion Dance

This course will go over lion dance fundamentals, focusing on movement and foot work. Beginners will understand the basics while seasoned lion dancers will be challenged to strengthen their fundamentals.
Jasper Ng
Jasper Ng, a native of Houston, TX, began his martial arts journey in 1996, receiving his formal training under Shaolin Master Shi Xing Ying for years before joining the U.S. Navy.
During his tour of duty, he encountered numerous martial artists and dedicated time to training and exchanging ideas with them in an effort to expand his knowledge as a martial artist. He is currently a head coach at 7 Star Dragon Lion Dance Team (忠義堂武館), teaching traditional Shaolin Kung Fu and lion dance.
Sanda Fundamentals

This course will teach you the drills, combos, and takedowns that will take your Sanda to the next level, or help you establish strong basics.
Coach Ian Lee
Coach Ian Lee began his martial arts training at a young age. After he became an athlete, Coach Lee participated in various combative competitions, including boxing and Chinese quick wrestling, and specialized in the Sanda combat style. He held a superior record during his athletic career, which includes seven times national champions and two times international champions. Currently, he dedicates himself to promoting and coaching Sanda at United Martial Arts Training Center in Lubbock.
He is currently the Secretary General, Pan American Wushu Federation (PAWF), Executive Vice President and Vice President of Sanda, USA Wushu-Kungfu Federation (USAWKF), Head Coach of the U.S. National Sanda Team (2007–2019), Head Coach, United Martial ArtsTraining Center
Internal Ji Ben Gong

This seminar offers an immersive introduction to three of China’s most influential internal martial arts. Participants will explore the flowing structure of Tai Chi, beginning with essential footwork, advancing and retreating steps, and progressing into the classic 24-form routine. From there, the seminar shifts into the direct and powerful methods of Xingyi Quan, emphasizing Santishi stance, fundamental stepping, and an integrated routine that highlights its explosive energy. Finally, students will experience the circular strategies of Bagua, practicing straight and arcing steps before combining them into a seamless routine. Together, these sessions provide a rare opportunity to compare and connect the principles of Tai Chi, Xingyi, and Bagua, building balance, coordination, and deeper insight into the unity of internal martial arts.
Coach Cai Xinran
Coach Cai Xinran started their martial arts training at the age of 5, and entered the youth sports school at 12.
During university, they participated in international exchange programs representing the School of Physical Education at Hebei Normal University, visiting countries such as the United States and Indonesia for cultural and sports exchange.
During graduate studies, she specialized in martial arts, Health Qigong, and physical training, and published multiple academic papers and research results. Coach Cai possesses extensive teaching experience, having later worked as a university lecturer at Shijiazhuang Engineering & Technical College.
Yu Chenghui’s Shuangshou Jian

This seminar will primarily focus on Yu Chenghui’s Shuangshou Jian routine and cover the historical fundamentals in grip positions of the sword hilt, blade edge alignment, footwork, and fighting positions of the sword. Participants will also get a closer look at the differences between modern training production swords and a one to one reproduction of historical battle-ready swords.
Sebastian Thao “The Fast Monk”
Sebastian Thao, “The Fast Monk,” is a martial artist and U.S. Army veteran. He received formal training in Shaolin Kung Fu and Sanda in 2015 under Grandmaster Shawn Liu (Shi Deru), a 31st Generation Shaolin Monk, and went on to become one of Liu’s top instructors, entrusted with spreading Shaolin martial skills and wisdom.
In addition to his teaching experience, Sebastian holds an amateur fight record of 2-1 in Sanda competition. His specialties include traditional Shaolin hand forms and staff forms, blending combat effectiveness with cultural tradition.
During his military service with the U.S. Army, Sebastian taught martial arts to fellow soldiers, adapting Shaolin principles to enhance their discipline, conditioning, and combat readiness. Today, he continues to train and teach, blending traditional Shaolin with modern martial arts to help students build confidence, skill, and resilience.
